Design By Committee – SHUT IT DOWN NOW

Let creatives be creative! Don’t let the non-creatives think in their non-creative minds that they know what the hell they’re doing. Here’s a video that is a good laugh (and under 5 minutes).

  1. Oh the horror! I worked in production and graphics in TV news for almost 14 years and, unfortunately, I can say that this is eerily accurate. It was my experience that when non-creative people wanted to “put their stamp” on something, the first element they would go after would be the visual. The directive would usually come from consultants who were not really thinking of what the end result would be… and they were usually long gone by the time the trainwreck would hit air. Of course, now that I’m out of TV watching this is kind of funny… but it still gives me shivers.
